Journeyman Electrician: Requires a minimum of 8,000 hours of practical experience over a four-year period related to electrical construction, building maintenance, electrical wiring, or equipment. Training must be under the direct supervision of a licensed electrician.

A journeyman electrician needs to have a deep familiarity with various types of electrical systems, fixtures, and components. Able to repair electrical uses with a variety of tools and techniques. Follow OSHA safety requirements and to safely use ladders, scaffolding, and platforms. To qualify for this role, an individual usually needs to have completed an electrician apprenticeship. A valid driver's license, as journeyman electricians typically drive themselves from job site to job site.
