Background
The Social Development Research Group (SDRG) is looking for temporary Traveling Interviewers to engage in extensive travel from July-September for the Community Youth Development Study (CYDS). CYDS is a longitudinal research study that was designed to measure the impact of the Communities That Care operating system on adolescent development. Research efforts focus on a sample from 24 selected communities throughout rural areas of Washington, Oregon, Utah, Colorado, Kansas, Illinois and Maine. Participants have been part of this study since 2004 and are approximately 26 years old.
Basic Functions
The primary function of the Traveling Interviewer will involve visiting non-responding study participants in order to maximize participation in the 2019 Young Adult Development Survey. This position requires travel to the 24 CYDS communities as well as other locations across the country. Trips will be conducted in 1-2 week increments up to twice monthly, throughout July and August 2019. Interviewers will use various tools (phone, web, mail), resources, and techniques to coordinate in-person interviews with participants. All travel costs will be paid for by the University of Washington and a daily per diem will be awarded along with the potential for overtime pay.

REQUIREMENTS
Two years of college-level course work in a relevant academic area AND one year of appropriate experience OR equivalent education/experience. Experience may substitute for education requirement.
