Job Description

The College of Health Sciences (CHS) seeks a proven, organized, and forward-thinking individual to serve in the role of Business Manager II. The Business Manger II is a key member of the CHS Central Administrative Operations team providing expert financial and administrative support at the College/School/Division level. The primary focus of this position is on budgetary procedures and assisting the Business Finance Officer in the overall financial operations and processes that affect the business initiatives and fiscal performance of CHS.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist with fiscal oversight for CHS by reviewing and approving expense reports, requisitions, contracts, and other financial submissions to ensure compliance with CHS best practices and university policies. Completion of college level transfers and ISEs. Assist in providing managerial review of the reconciliation of various expense accounts, including general operating, gifts, endowments, grants, and clinical operations.
  • Provide policy interpretation to CHS faculty, staff, students, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist with budget planning, implementation, and budget entry to ensure budgets are appropriately entered and balanced across the college. Prepare detailed budget reports and analysis to CHS leadership as needed. Assist BFO in monitoring budget status/progress throughout the year. Assist with annual financial commitment tracking and fiscal year-end closing procedures.
  • Assist with conducting internal CHS audits to ensure internal controls are sufficient to meet policy and other compliance standards.
  • Assist with Marketplace store creation, maintenance, and reporting.
  • Assist with MoCode creation and inactivation.
  • Monitor BCM report and take appropriate actions to resolve issues.
  • Assist with creation and review of MOUs and contracts with third party vendors.
  • Assist BFO in short- and long-term financial forecasting and planning.
  • Work closely with the Grants Manager to manage post-award expenses and monitor spending and grantor allowability of expenditures for grants.
  • Perform special tasks or investigations, such as coordinating the closure of locations, determining source data for CHS metric reporting, opening and closing of petty cash accounts, etc.
  • Train and supervise staff and student workers as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

8:00am – 5:00pm

Minimum Qualifications

A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

At least 5 years of progressively responsible fiscal office experience in academic setting.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $50,367 - $91,392
Grade: GGS 010
