Job Description Summary:
This faculty is responsible for patient care, medical education, service, research/scholarly activity and completion of a Master of Public Health degree.
Job Description:
Required Qualifications:
- Medical Degree
- Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine
- Unrestricted license or license eligible to practice medicine in Kansas
- DEA license
- Hospital privileges
Preferred Qualifications:
- Family medicine education experience
- Family medicine practice experience
- Experience conducting scholarly activity
Job Duties Outlined:
Patient Care-
- Provide direct patient care
- Supervision of residents in office setting, on-call, hospital rounding and coverage for in-patient care and maternal health care with faculty colleagues
- Periodically supervise at Jay Doc Clinic
- Provide patient care and resident teaching in long-term care centers
- May include locum tenens, care at local community health centers and urgent care settings
Education-
- Offer residency lectures and seminars
- Participate as standardized patient monitor upon request
- Assist with medical student workshops, seminars and small group sessions upon request
Research/Scholarly Activity-
- Satisfactory progress toward and completion of a Master of Public Health degree over two years, including Capstone Project to be of publishable quality. Progress in this position will be reviewed every six months. Continuation of the position will be determined at one year
- Begin development of own research agenda and expertise
- Participate in grant writing with other faculty
- Submit at least one clinical article or chapter for publication
- Participate in faculty development teaching seminars
Service-
- Participate in residency committees if assigned
- Participate in department committees as assigned
- Participate in school and campus committees if they contribute to the academic development of the clinical scholar
- Other patient care, administrative, education, research and service responsibilities delegated by Department Chair
