Positions will begin in August 2021.
School Bus Driver
Must have a good driving record.
Must pass physical and drug test.
Must have or be able to obtain NE CDL and Bus Permit (Paid for by KPS).
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Education: Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalency preferred.
2. Ability to pass the DOT examination.
3. Ability to pass and maintain a valid Nebraska CDL with air brakes and passenger endorsements.
4. Must possess a good driving record.
5. Must be of good moral character.
6. Must be available to work Saturdays and Sundays when scheduled.
7. Must be physically able to handle the needs of handicapped passengers in wheelchairs or other assistive devices as they enter and exit the bus.
8. Physically maneuver wheelchair students using the automatic lift manually to raise and lower lift if automatic lift is not functioning.
9. Fastens harnesses and belts.
10. Secures students in wheelchairs and secures wheelchairs to the bus.
11. Must be able to evacuate special needs students either in their chairs or in case of extreme emergency cut belts and use drag blanket to remove children from vehicle.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (Include, but are not limited to)
1. Drives route on regular assigned time.
2. Reports to the Transportation/Maintenance building one half hour before assigned depart times.
3. Follows all rules and regulations for bussing as set forth by the State of Nebraska and the Board of Education.
4. Dresses appropriately for the job representing the district.
5. Keeps the interior of bus clean on a regular/scheduled basis.
6. Informs the Transportation Coordinator of any accidents or traffic violations. If in a school vehicle, radios in; if in auto, within 24 hours.
7. Exercises sound judgment and maintains good public relations with parents, staff, and patrons.
8. Performs other duties assigned by the Supervisor of Transportation.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: (Intellectual, Sensory)

Food Service Worker
Salad bar prep, serving food to students, cashier, and clean-up duties.
Schedule will follow school calendar.
Various positions available throughout the district.
Various hours available depending on the position.
Positions are usually 4 to 6 hours per day.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Education: Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Possesses strong organizational skills and computer skills.
3. Food service experience.
4. Ability to lift 50 pounds.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (Include, but are not limited to)
- Preparation
- Assists with preparation of breakfast items.
- Follows menus and recipes.
- Assists in preparation of lunch items (vegetables, salads, entrees) as directed.
- Assists Manager with district special functions or promotions.
- Assists Manager with any food situations that may arise.
Serving
- Helps serve and or operate computer POS during service time.
- Assists in set up of hot food lines and salad bars, gathering utensils and other items needed for service.
Cleaning
- Washes pots, pans, trays and silverware as assigned..
- Cleans serving counters and steam tables,
- Cleans equipment as needed.
- Washes and sanitizes counters and tables with appropriate sanitizer.
- General kitchen cleaning assignments and duties.
Other
- Reports any equipment needs and repairs to manager.
- Records daily food usage on proper breakfast and/or lunch production records.
- Helps out where needed and is flexible.
Custodians
40 hours per week 52 weeks per year 2080 hours per year

Must Possess a valid Nebraska Driver's license.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Education: Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Must possess a valid Nebraska Driver’s License.
3. Experience: General hands-on custodial experience with building upkeep.
4. Knowledge in the safe use of cleaning materials, equipment, and hand tools/power equipment.
5. The ability to work from written and verbal instructions.
6. The ability to work alone as well as with a team.
7. Professional cleaning experience helpful, but not mandatory.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (Include, but are not limited to)
- Maintains a level of cleanliness in assigned area/building.
- Operates vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, carpet extractors, and floor scrubbers including mop/bucket.
- Properly uses and stores common industrial cleaning chemicals provided by the district.
- Performs minor repairs to buildings and equipment within capabilities; reports all others to building Head Custodian or Custodial Supervisor.
- Responds to building administrators’ special needs and requests to keep the building running.
- Routinely checks heating and air conditioning equipment, reporting any malfunctions to the Head Custodian, Custodial Supervisor, or Supervisor of Buildings & Grounds.
- Informs Head Custodian when custodial supplies are needed.
- Performs building security as directed by Head Custodian or Custodial Supervisor.
- Reports any unsafe conditions to the Head Custodian or Custodial Supervisor.
- Removes outside trash of assigned building.
- Performs weekly inspections of playground equipment using the proper forms.
- Participates in snow and ice removal of assigned building.
- Communicates with building staff and students to ensure awareness of any special needs or concerns.
- Remains familiar with Disaster Plan and assigned duties in an emergency.
- Keeps assigned building environmentally safe for staff, patrons, and visitors.
- Maintains asbestos training to the two hour level minimum.
- Performs any other duties as requested or directed by the Head Custodian or Custodial Supervisor.

- Practices correct chemical usage.
- Demonstrates proper equipment and tool usage.
- Uses good communication skills.
- Complies with safety guidelines using good common sense.
